Riddle me this: What happens the 20th of the month every Jan, April, July and October? Anyone? Sales and use tax are due to the state. And for the first time in two quarters, I apid themon time - woo hoo! I actually stayed up on it this time so it couldn't be the big job it usually is.
Surprise, surprise, sales are done from the first and second quarter. You wouldn't think this was a big deal except not only were they down, instead of up, it was a double blow in that the fall (October and November specifically) is usually the best time of the year. At least it has been for me.
Still, in this awful, terrible, rotten economy, I am hanging on, and that's all I have to do, just keep my head above water and make enough to pay the business loan until this "crisis is over" as they say on the news...
The fun part of the day? NEW PRODUCT! CHA, the Craft and Hobby Association, is having their winter trade show next week, and I am already getting emails from my sales rep of all the new things coming.
See something cool? Email it to me! Right now I am looking at new Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee and Fancy Pants Designs items. What else should I carry? Post it in comments!
